A little taste of Balmain

Ladies, the Balmain F/W '10 has arrived! I thought the punk & studs will still remain one of Balmain's trademarks, but this time the design has toned down... and seems to be inspired by Art Nouveau (Val's favorite art style!). Check it out:
The Louis XIV inspired white vest and its subtle ruffles. The jacket looks like royal curtains.

Patterns and shoulders are still in. It gives such a dominating look, love it!
Classy and Patterny
See-thru is welcomed too. The leather pants are really hot!

Fancy and tasty

Liverpool house makes you feel at home. I'll start with the only thing that bothered me: the menu written on that high black board. Why did it bother me? I didn't had my glasses so I couldn't see a thing! Plus, I had wine before so I really couldn't see clear anymore.

BUT, the waiters were amazing and knew what the chef was serving! Explaining everything clearly and advising mixes, we ended up having oysters (which were amazingly fresh and good!), Duck, and the pistachio thin slice cake for desert. The meal was sumptuous and very tastefull.
The place itself is so charming. Mixing paintings on the walls and keeping a unify look with the same tables and chairs: it's the right balance between modern- traditionnal trendy style.

It's also a great place to grab a 4pm coffee/ tea with a little sweet bite on the side and a 7pm glass of wine or beer on draft (served in typical mugs, we love it!).

You have to try it!

Two Lovely Summer/ Spring Discoveries

Social Thread makes beautiful girlie fashion clothing, perfect for Summer 2010: definitely inspiring to look for those cuts!

Called Derek Lam: you can purchase his stuff online or pass by his great soho shop in New York.

Ti Voglio Paciotti!

Nine West (150$-190$-79$)

This summer, golden-sandy-nude colors are everywhere. As for shoes, you will need a manly-sailor kind of shoes, heels (chunky or classics) or keds like: opt for natural colors and get your heartbroken by Cesare Paciotti that designed those beautiful pieces of arts for your feet!!! They cost around 780 $.
Dreaming of taking of that O at the end? Nine West as a pretty good selection which could satisfy the previous dream mentionned!

Light lunch in Soho NY

So I was in New York last week and on my way back hom in the bus right now.... I love wifi in the bus... it makes the 8hrs ride way easier + Dichie Roberts playing in the back ground... 1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, FLOOR, makes it funnier.

I did shop in NYC ( no way!!!) and went to a few (2 every day) museum.
I recommand a cute little restaurant for Lunch in Soho (Prince Street) : Café Borgia.
I had a great portabello, mushroom, tomato on italian grilled bread (very light) served with a green and fresh salad. Not to oily, not to big: the hole package being kind of surprising in usa.
Inside, it's tiny and cute people go for lunch alone, or maximum 4!

Exposition wise... New Museum of Contemporary Art is always fun to go too... very erotic, I enjoyed a few pieces except the one which consisted in a mashing up of icetoping betty crocker... that was disguting!!

Marché 27

Alright, maybe I'm not so update, but I really enjoy urbanspoon.com when it comes to find new restaurants / bars.

My suggestion this week: Marché 27 on Prince-Arthur
I'm a big big fan of steak tartare and with spring coming along... I feel like eating / drinking out a lot : it's really good there, and only around 12$!

All about paterns

Tbags

Urban Outfiters
TopShop

This summer, it's all about patterns: a lot of flowers and a few inspired- animal-prints- ligns (flashy colors - pucci style- for the day and black and white silk fabric at night!)

I want those from T Bags... it's beautifull.
They have nice silky tops at Urban Outfiters and at TopShop, if you pass by New York or live in Europe.
Also, have a look in Vintage store clothing (or your grandma's closet!), great paterns from the 70's, affordable and totally back in fashion this summer!

A meter high: Cuissardes!

Well I wanted some... And I got served. Indeed, Victoria Beckham pull those one off. Created by Antonio Berardi, it looks like the little madam Beckham can still wear a pair of 52,5 inches!
Ok, you can afford those for 2300 euros! Lower budget, I hear you screaming?

Check those one out at your nearest Nine West Store.
